New Collab with Korean Female Rapper J Lips!

Hi everyone!  I'm so excited to present this original song.  It is in my native language: Korean.  I wrote all my lyrics. The beat is an authentic piece by master producer DJ Handle and is available for download on the website. www.djhandle.com

I couldn't insert the video in this post so you guys could watch it here. There must be a glitch that prevents me from doing so. Until I can figure it out, I will share the link below.

Selling Out: It's an Epidemic

Most Music Moguls, as we here at DJ Handle call them, can remember a time when they were a "struggling artist". Jamming out for the pure fun of it, excited to perform at a show (even for free!), eager to share their latest musical creation with friends or local fans... After all, they are people... like you or me, right?

But what changed? At some point, these aspiring recording artists went from hoping for that big break, to becoming the next big star. They finally broke the barrier. The dream became a reality. The wishing morphed into success. And now they are our favorite famous rappers, singers and producers.

Is it really that easy, that simple, though? We work our butts off, create masterpieces, pour our entire beings into our crafts and pave the way to riches and fame? Will the fans congregate in masses? Will they support our desire and hard work as we strive to keep them entertained while sharing our most vulnerable inner selves, our creative sparks that keep us moving through our monotonous days?

Will the love of fans translate into sales of singles? Sales of concert tickets? Sales of merchandising? Will we be able to make a living from our true passion: Music?

Or will we be betrayed by reality? After all, who's paying for the production of these albums we're putting out there? Who's financing our wardrobes and music video budgets? Who's paying the photographers, the managers, the producers, the studios, the graphic designers, the promoters... the entire entourage it takes to jump start a musician's career?

Once we have snapped out of our daydreams and realized the work, sweat and CASHOLA it takes to make it happen, we find ourselves in a bit of a dilemma. We begin to worry about the cost of making this life long dream a true reality.

Thank Hip Hop for Rap In Your Country

Hip Hop has shaped the sound of music everywhere.  Not just on a domestic level but on a global level.   In some instances, the very artists who are influenced are not even aware of it.

Let's explore this a bit further...
What is Hip Hop?  Well, the answer to that question can be as complex as it is simple.  To sum it up... Hip Hop is a cultural movement that encompasses a combination of the following: expressing oneself through rap, disk jockeying, beat boxing, attitude, spoken word, fashion, visual graffiti arts, and sampling, for starters.

A brief history of Hip Hop reveals the debate of who founded hip hop . Many attribute its origins to the legendary DJ Kool Herc, a Jamaican immigrant who settled in Bronx NY. He exploded on to the scene in the 1970's as a party starter who brought us the first taste of disk jockeying. He would freestyle rhymes over reggae records. When he realized the reggae scene wasn't being met with much fanfare by the guttural NYC crowds, he figured out a way to keep his audience engaged; by playing just the percussion instruments of a record over and over. Then he would chant rhymes over these loops. This is said to be the birth of DJ instrumentals and rap.
